Pretty bad joke though but I am in the company of friends who often crack poor jokes only.

The plot of the movie goes as follows. The secret service code of the white house is “Olympus”  is captured by the terrorists. The mastermind of the terrorist is involved in the kidnapping of the President too. The role of the former president guard is played by the “Ps:I love you” star that is Gerald Butler who is trapped within the building. Indeed the role of the president (Mike Banning) played by Gera Butler is kidnapped and trapped within the white house only. Interesting!!

Now the plot revolves as to how Gerald using his knowledge and experience aids the National security in finding the president. This movie also stars Morgan Freeman who is the speaker Trumbell. I guess it is the first time Gerald and Morgan are together in one movie. It will be very interesting to see two reputed actors in one action/thriller movie. Though the mission seems to be pretty simple but if not accomplished, a major disaster awaits their way. Catch this flick on March 22, 2013.

Well Macfarlane the creator of “The Family Guy” and one of my best comedy movies of 2012 that is “Tedd” tweeted that he would not host the Oscars again. I loved his gimmicks,b00bs song “We saw your b00bs”. But the critics said that he instead degraded woman and in response to one of his followers, Seth said that he would not host the Oscars again. In my opinion Seth was cool and brought about the Oscars viewership a bit higher from the previous year. As the number of people who watched Oscars this year was 3 percent higher from the previous year. Moreover there was an increase of viewership of almost 11 percent in the age group of 18-49 years.

Until I fell in love with this awesome movie called “Silver Lining Playbook”. I mean this is the best movie after “Pretty Woman” starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. Silver lining playbook has the innocence, charisma and magical appeal that Pretty Women had. I would rate Silver Lining playbook a 9 out of 10. There is a never an instance in the movie where you would feel bored. Silver lining playbook revolves around Bradley Cooper who got released from mental institution after being treated to bipolar disorder. Pat (Bradley) strives to get his ex-wife back in his life until he discovers that he is attracted to his dancing partner Tiffany(Jennifer Lawrence). Though the plot is pretty simple but the screenplay, direction and characters played by both the actors made this movie an extra special. Simple, sweet dialogues along with wonderful chemistry made this movie extra special. Also one cannot forget the superb football maniac in the movie played by Pat’s dad that is Robert De Niro. His superstitious acting was simply awesome.

Now the whole point of writing this article was to encourage a discussion as to whether Jennifer Lawrence made this movie an extra special or simplicity of the characters played by them.

Well personally I fell in love with Tiffany’s character played by Jennifer Lawrence at first glance only. She was simply out of the world. The way she openly stalked and flirted with Pat was simply so awesome.  The chemistry between them was special also because of the fact that both had troubled past. Pat suffered  from bipolar disorder and Tiffany had troubled relationships. Jennifer Lawrence is surely an asset to the Hollywood industry and has a long way to go.

Many questioned that Lawrence in order to garner attention fell while climbing the stairs. Those who think that way are quite wrong in their perception. She has won many awards for her role in Silver Lining playbook and in all the events she gave a humble speech. Only this time though her dress was quite big and unmanageable and fell a little. She also said while laughing – “One bad word that I can’t say here is the word that starts from F”. She said this as she fell while climbng the stairs when she has been awarded the best actress academy award.

If you do not have any clue about Ben Affleck then let me enlighten you with some extra information. Ben Affleck is the actor, director and producer of Argo. I simply fell in love with one of his early releases that is “Good will Hunting”. Both Matt Damon of Bourne series and Ben are very close friends. The chemistry which they share in Good will hunting is simply impeccable.

Now Argo is most likely to bore. Well you might be thinking that I am contradicting my own statement. But the initial 30-40 minutes, you might think that this movie has a slow paced. But once you continue to watch, then you will watch it in one go.

Here are some facts and instances from the movie that I simply loved and makes it a serious bet for Oscars 2013.

1. The involvement of the C.I.A. complemented efforts of the Canadian embassy in freeing the six held in Tehran. To this day, this story stands as an enduring model for international cooperation between governments.

2. All the Houseguests returned to the US Foreign Service after their ordeal in Iran.

3. Oscar-winning makeup artist John Chambers was awarded the C.I.A.’s intelligence Medal, its highest civilian honor. He and Mendez remained friends until Chambers’ death in 2001.

4. Tony Mendez’s intelligence Star was returned to him in 1997, when the Argo operation was declassified by President Clinton.

5. I simply loved the scene where the prisoners con the Iran airport authorities . The use of pictorial images and convincing the airport authorities that Argo is a sci-fi movie was one hell of task.

6. My heart sank when they went to airport and their tickets was not confirmed but soon after refreshing they got the confirmation.

7. In the end when the plane took off Tony  reached home with his son and wife was quite a nostaligic scene.

The best movie award in Oscars 2013 goes to “Argo”.

Warm Bodies Movie Review

A well-paced, nicely directed, post-apocalyptic love story with a terrific sense of humor and the, um, guts to be unabashedly romantic and unapologetically optimistic.
In doing a little genre bending of romantic schmaltz and horror cheese – some fundamental zombie mythology is turned on its head – the film breathes amusing new life into both.
At this point in the actor’s career, it is pretty well impossible to tell when Malkovich is camping it up, or just being John Malkovich. Under the end-of-civilization circumstances of Warm Bodies, he’s just the right guy for the job.
I don’t know if the first zombie date flick is a step forward or backward for civilization as a whole, but I can say that Warm Bodies pulls off a pretty impressive trick: It has its “Twilight” and goofs on it too.
Its an enjoyably clever and lovely movie to watch.

Bless Me, Ultima Movie Review

Carl Franklin’s film is true to the tone and spirit of the book. It is patient and in no hurry. It allows a balanced eye for the people in its hero’s family who tug him one way and another.

This material would never have attracted a major studio, so Christy Walton – heir to the Wal-Mart fortune – financed the picture herself, not because of any desire to become a movie mogul but simply because of her passion for the novel. She allowed the filmmakers to work without major stars or obvious commercial hooks added to the story. Although the film doesn’t always sustain dramatic impact, its fidelity to the spirit of the novel is impressive.

Dark Skies (2013) Movie Review

The director Scott Stewart teams up with Paranormal Activity franchise originator Blumhouse Productions on an alien-abduction suspenser. Just like folks, Daniel (Josh Hamilton) and Lacy Barrett (Keri Russell) are a loving couple with a growing family and too many bills to pay. They have two young sons to look out for – young teen Jesse (Dakoto Goyo) and his kid brother Sam (Kadan Rockett). The family wants to sell their house for clearing the debts and noone is willing to buy their house. The two brothers communicate via walkie talkie after bedtime, sharing spooky stories of monsters from outer space who invade the earth to steal people’s eyes. One night, strange things started happening around the house. On another night, all the family pictures are stolen from their hanging frames on wall. They call the cops but the local cops think that kids are playing pranks. I am not going to reveal the suspense. You should watch the movie and share your experience.
I saw the movie last night, very interesting, cleverly written and played by soldid actors, I had goosebumps, enough to make it very believable, it was a great movie. I kept thinking about the eyes and the grays all night, great twist to the ending, good movie.

Rating – 2.5 out of 5.
